Know exactly how to get through every meal of recovery.

Anorexia shows up at every meal. Your treatment team can't. The Mealtime Companion is your in-the-moment structure for before, during, and the hour after, so you're never at the table with nothing but willpower.

Does this sound familiar?

"I spend the entire day dreading dinner. By the time I sit down, I'm exhausted before the meal even starts."
"I can get through the meal. It's the hour after that undoes me, every single time."
"My team gives me a plan in session. But at the table, it's just me and the voice, and the voice always has the last word."

The problem isn't your willpower. The problem is facing roughly 35 meals and snacks a week with one hour of professional support. The Companion is built for the other 34 hours.

Inside the Companion

Eight modules. One system. Yours.

The structures, scripts, and tools our dietitians use in eating disorder recovery support, rebuilt as an interactive companion that remembers your reasons, your progress, and your evidence.

01

Start Here

Safety first, then your Why Anchor: three reasons that outlive motivation, handed back to you before every meal.

02

Why Meals Feel Like This

The starved brain, explained. The ED voice, named. Flip-card lie detectors and the science of why it gets easier.

03

The Meal Protocol

A guided walk through before, during, and the hour after every meal, with scripts for the exact hard minutes.

04

Mechanical Eating

Six ticks a day. No numbers, no food names, no judgement. The structure that decides so you don't have to.

05

Fear Foods

A live exposure ladder that tracks each food's fear losing its evidence, rung by rung, repeat by repeat.

06

Compensation Urges

Ride the ten-minute wave with a timer, log every urge you outlast, and watch your own record grow.

07

Hard Days

The 50% protocol, a bank of responses for comments at the table, and boundary scripts to send before big events.

08

Clinician Bridge

Your whole week, one tap, one page: a printable summary your dietitian or psychologist can actually use.

Your Evidence Engine

Pre and post meal distress, logged in two taps, falling week over week. Your own proof, in your own record.

How it works

Built for the moments between sessions.

The Meal Protocol

Open it before any meal and it hands you your own reasons, a two-minute setup, scripts for the stall, and a plan for the hour after. Progressive and guided: each module unlocks as you complete the one before, so it never overwhelms.

Your Evidence Engine

Every meal you get through becomes data: distress before, distress after, logged in seconds. Over weeks you watch the fear physically shrink on your own record, which is the one argument the ED voice can't win.

Number-free by design

Nothing in the Companion counts, weighs, or measures food. No calories, no food diaries, no numbers about eating anywhere. The only numbers are about how you feel, because that's the evidence that matters.

The Clinician Bridge

One tap turns your week into a printable summary for your dietitian or psychologist: meals supported, urges ridden out, your fear ladder, how distress moved. Sessions start from the real picture, not a foggy memory.

Nicole Brekalo, Accredited Practising Dietitian

Written by our dietitian

"Recovery happens in the moments between sessions. When the meal is in front of you and the voice is loud, you don't need a theory. You need a structure to lean on. The Companion brings the frameworks we use with clients every day directly to your table."

Common questions

Before you ask.

Is this a replacement for treatment?

No, and it never claims to be. The Companion is a self-help support tool for the space between appointments. It works best alongside a dietitian, psychologist, or GP, and its final module is literally built to hand your week back to them.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It's a web app that runs in your browser on any phone, tablet, or laptop. Nothing to install. Your entries save automatically on your device, and there's a one-tap backup file so you never lose your progress.

Is my information private?

Everything you write stays in your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us or anyone else. The only way your data leaves your device is if you choose to print or copy your clinician summary yourself.

Will it make me count or track food?

The opposite. There are no numbers about food anywhere in the Companion by design: no calories, no portions, no weights. The only thing tracked is how you feel before and after meals, which becomes your own evidence that it's getting easier.

I'm supporting someone with anorexia. Is this for them or me?

Both can use it. It's written for the person in recovery (ages 16 and over), and it includes a dedicated script to hand to a support person explaining exactly what helps at the table and what doesn't. Many carers buy it for someone they love.
